Iran denounces Israeli aggression against Lebanon, regrets UNSC Inaction

Iran Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, highlighting serious violations of international law and human rights.

Condemnation of Israeli Aggression

The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqaei, expressed outrage over the recent terrorist attack in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut. This assault has resulted in the martyrdom of several Lebanese citizens, including a senior Hezbollah official and his son. Baqaei characterized these actions as a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and integrity.

Documented Violations and Inaction

Baqaei pointed out that there have been over 2,000 documented violations of the ceasefire by what he referred to as the Zionist regime. He condemned these brutal assaults as egregious breaches of fundamental principles and norms of international law and human rights. The spokesperson criticized the inaction of the ceasefire guarantors, describing their failure to respond as a matter of grave discredit and moral bankruptcy.

Call for International Accountability

Expressing deep regret over the ongoing inaction of relevant international bodies, particularly the United Nations Security Council, Baqaei pointed out the escalating warmongering and heinous crimes perpetrated by Israel in both Lebanon and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. He unequivocally held the United States and other Western supporters of the regime complicit in these crimes and violations of international law.

Response from Regional States

Baqaei urged regional countries to mobilize against Israel’s expansionism and war-mongering policies. He emphasized that the pretexts presented by the Zionist entity to justify its aggression are completely unjustified and baseless. The international community, he stated, must take decisive action to confront the ongoing chaos perpetrated by Israel in the region, which poses significant threats to international peace and security.

As tensions continue to rise, the situation remains critical, with calls for accountability and action reverberating across the international community.
