Photo that’s outraged a nation as sick teens pose for SELFIE with weeping OAP woman, 92, they’d tied to bed and robbed

Shocking Crime in Buenos Aires

A shocking incident in Buenos Aires has left the nation in disbelief after a group of teenagers took a selfie with a 92-year-old woman whom they had just robbed and assaulted.

The Disturbing Crime

On January 17, in the Vicente Lopez neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, a masked gang broke into the elderly woman’s home. Reports indicate that the assailants gagged, beat, and tied her to her bed while they ransacked her residence for cash and valuables.

The thieves stole several items, including wedding rings, a gold chain, an iPhone, and approximately 50,000 pesos (around £45). In a chilling display of their brazen attitude, they captured a selfie with the distressed victim in the background, posting it on social media as if it were a trophy.

Aftermath and Arrests

Hours later, the gang struck again in a different neighbourhood, targeting another woman and stealing a 32-inch television before fleeing in a Volkswagen Gol Trend, the same vehicle used in their initial attack.

Their ultimate downfall came from the very photo they shared. Investigators, combing through social media, identified the image along with a disturbing caption that read, „the spark, one gone,” paired with an electronic dance track.

One investigator expressed disgust at the criminals’ actions, stating, „It is disgusting.” Using surveillance footage, witness testimonies, and social media analysis, police were able to identify the suspects. Multiple raids in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires led to their capture.

Legal Proceedings

Prosecutor Alejandro Guevara has requested preventive detention and a swift trial for the suspects, which include three minors and a 26-year-old adult. All four have been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

Related Incident in Paraguay

In a separate but equally alarming case, a woman identified as Natalia Edith González, 39, was arrested in Paraguay for allegedly stealing a newborn baby from a hospital. Caught on CCTV, she fled the Barrio Obrero Public Hospital just 50 metres from the Argentine border, posing as a nurse.

Reports suggest that González had been fabricating a pregnancy to her family and had targeted the baby after scouring three hospitals. This incident further underscores the alarming rise in violent crime across the region.
